Testing for LD

So Tyler struggles in reading, math and handwriting in school. Finally this school year we have decided to get him tested for learning disabilities. I think there is a good chance he does have one just based on his past history and his CP diagnosis. Testing won't start until January and then we will meet up in Feb to go over results and create a plan. I know this sounds horrible but I pray they find something that will qualify him to receive help. We have done all we can do at home and the material is just not fully sinking in so he needs more help at school. I do not know much about learning disabilities so I've got some research ahead of me. He is still in speech therapy and progressing quite well.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. While this is a hard time of year for our family as some family members are not with us anymore, I hope to help create new happy memories and to carry on traditions. One newer tradtition for our family for the past 2 years is a book called The Elf on the Shelf and this year there was a tv program which really made the story come to life for us. Our elf's name is Fred and I love the excitement Tyler has each morning as he finds Fred hiding in a new spot. Traditions are such an important thing to me and I love to pass them on in my family.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
