Sorry for not updating in a while but things are going great healthwise for Tyler. (Despite today him having a tummy bug). He is doing great in school and has made huge progress in getting upto grade level in reading and math. We recently had his annual school meeting and he is doing so well in speech therapy that he will be going only once a week for 30 minutes next school year. He just loves school and has become quite the social butterfly and chatterbox lately.
It is near the end of our spring break and we just got back from our short vacation from San Diego. Tyler has never been to San Diego and the rest of us have not been there in over 11 years. We decided to stay near the ocean. The hotel was great, it had lots to do like a free arcade room and a private beach on the Bay.
We had lots of fun on our short trip. We first visited the USS Midway Museum and learned a lot about what life what like for the military on the ship. Tight quarters and lots of steps no thank you for me! Then we hung out on Mission Beach and made sand castles and looked for shells. The beach is really where Tyler is in his element, he just loves to dig and explore. Next we went to San Diego Zoo, wow now that place has changed. Tyler was surprised how big that zoo is and how many animals there was. He enjoyed the skytram and the bus ride around the park. And ofcorse we had to ride the Balboa train just outside the zoo & just ask Tyler about that ride the lady was honking the horn at all the wrong times! On our last day we went to a beach in LaJolla called Children's Pool which used to be for kids but is now taken over by seals. It is amazing just to watch the seals and the waves. We also went to Belmont Park, which is an amusement park right on Mission Beach and they also have the Wave House there too. The Wave House is an artificial wave machine for people to learn to surf or practice that was fun to watch.
Overall we had a fun and busy time on our spring break. Now we've just got another month or so left of school and then it is summer break! Wow I can't believe I almost have an 8 year old who is soon gonna be a 3rd grader.
